From inception in 2008, the Fuller Woman Expo wanted to reach a
wide audience in different demographics. In 2009 we were able to make
the movement international by bringing the concept of the expo in Canada
to the United States. Now, Georgia and I are pleased to announce The
International Fuller Woman Expo AFRICA!!
Our Nigerian team is lead by Elsie-Coco Utong, the woman behind Big Sister Magazine, Africa’s premiere and only lifestyle magazine for the curvy and plus size women available in print. "I feel the strong need to formally introduce the Fuller Woman Network to Africa with hosting the African version. I am looking forward to hosting all the fuller figured women within and across Africa for this inspiring event. Special thanks to Georgia, Cassandra and Stephanie for giving me the right to kick off the movement in Africa"
The Fuller Woman Expo is normally held in two countries, United States and Canada. The African edition of Fuller Woman Expo is still in line with our mission which is to address the ever growing self-esteem. body image, discrimination issues surrounding being a full figured woman.
Those that will attend this one day inspiring event will enjoy the same benefit provisions of The International Fuller Woman Expo Canada/USA which includes: a wealth of information on health, fitness, resources and empowering seminars by curvy and plus size celebrity/keynote speakers.
There will also be a variety of exhibits, fashion show featuring plus size ready to wear fashion from around Africa. Big Sister Magazine awards will be presented to deserving women in the plus size industry, alongside refreshment, live music, dance ,comedy entertainment that will inspire, motivate and celebrate the curvy and plus size sisters.
We will also award the Mia Amber Davis Award of Excellence to a woman who exemplifies all of the amazing things that Mia stood for and would be proud of. There are some amazing women that are continuing the fight in Africa, we want to make sure you know about them.
