OLUFEMI FELICIA ADU WINS THE 6TH EDITION OF MISS BIG WORLD NIGERIA, 2012



   Alas! After few days in the Miss Big World Nigeria camp, 25yr old Olufemi Adu Felicia, a graduate of Mass Communication , currently on her one year National Youth Service was crowned the winner of the pageant’s 6th edition. Olufemi beat eleven other contestants. She hails from Ondo State, Nigeria. 25 years old with statistics of 49, 44 and 57. She is 6.2ft tall and her hobbies include singing and cooking.

MEMORIES OF MISS BIG WORLD NIGERIA 2012


The sixth edition of Miss Big World Nigeria aka MBWN, was held on Saturday, 10th November 2012 at Sheraton Hotel, Wuse Zone 4,  Abuja, Nigeria. The event which is often packaged by SKIESVISION COMMUNICATION LIMITED was witnessed by notable names in the Abuja circle, Nollywood and the plus size industry, including; present and previous ministers, senators business tycoons, celebrities and media personalities including Elsie-Coco the founder/publisher BIG SISTER Magazine, proud supporters of the event.
The event which was co-hosted by Sophie Tarfa, former Cool Fm Abuja presenter started with a red carpet session, by ITV and NTA Abuja. There were other side attractions like comedy, dance performances; among the Abuja musicians that performed was Pee Lola who also is the Chief Judge and the entertainment director for MBWN.
The show also gave room for guests to watch the activities of Life International Foundation Inc(LIFI), the pageant’s non profitable project for the less privileges The organizer of MBWN also gave out awards to deserving persons in all sector of life. According to the President/coordinator of MBWN, Dr. Olubunmi Usim-Wilson, the winner of this year’s pageant will support ‘second chance’ education’ for girls and women who had missed the opportunity of getting educated at an early age. The winner went home with N200.000.00k, while the first runner Emmanuella Egoigbo and second runner Chinaza Chimalu went home with substantial amount and consolation gift items. JPKingdom, provided the queens with lovely kaftans for the evening wears.

THE MAKING OF MISS BIG WORLD NIGERIA 2012


BIG SISTER Magazine's publisher Elsie-Coco had paid the MBWN queens a courtesy visit in their camp in Maitama, Abuja, where she officially presented to the ceo of MBWN, Dr. Olubunmi Wilson-Usim the BSM launch edition and the BIG SISTER Magazine certificate of recognition. As a visiting role model to the queens, Elsie in her normal routine took the queens on a breif interactive sermina on  Tips of Building a Good Self Esteem as a Plus Size Lady. In return, the queens thrilled the BSM crew in a dance/catwalk work session. It was  also an emotional moment  Dr. Usim and everyone as they listened to the queens as they opened up on their chanlenges with their body size before coming in for the competition.

THE OFFICIAL LAUNCH OF BIG SISTER MAGAZINE

The official launch of BIG SISTER Magazine, came up on the 20th of October 2012, with Nollywood plus size actress and couturier Adaora Ukoh on the launch edition cover.  With the dress code of red or blue, this was one event that brought about a convergence of plus size industry leaders and the plus size women in general to the venue, Rodizzio Restaurant and Bar, Isaac John, G.R.A., Ikeja. High lights of the event was a fashion runway show by JPK (plus size clothing line), comedy and musical performances. Big Sister Magazine (published by  Elsie-Coco) was unveiled and launched by plus size industry leaders. Amongst the invited guests were the three Ibru sisters, Elvina, Gloria and Obuks. Adoara Ukoh, Moji Hassan, Unyime-Ivy King of (TW magazine), previous and present plus size beauty queens and the host of others. Big Sister is Nigeria’s premiere life style magazine packaged for the special interest of the curvy and plus size sisters, celebrating their worth, talent, brain and also offers useful tips on healthy living, fitness, diet, beauty and boost of self esteem, also putting aspiring plus models on the spot light. It goes for five hundred naira only per copy.  ALAS, THE OROBO SISTERS NOW HAVE A PUBLICATION TO SHINE!!!
