ONE YEAR OF A PLUS CELEBRATION
It was exactly July 2011 that BIG SISTER was delivered having conceived it in late 2009. I remember writing in the editorial page then that I felt like a proud mother whose baby was in your hands, I had titled that piece ‘MY JULY DREAMS.’ I was ecstatic as it was a double celebration for me as July also marks my birth month. The birth of BSM was the beginning of our impact in the plus size industry and in the lives of fuller figured women.
BSM became a forum where the curvy and big sisters were celebrated as she gave room for fans to shine, express themselves, feel sexy and edgy. One year down the memory lane, BIG SISTER Magazine has boosted the confidence of the fuller figured sisters with inspiring features inside our 5 editions both in prints and online, we have kept the vision of truly becoming a voice that represents the clan of the curvy and plus size sisters and also supporting and celebrating bodies with plus size projects within and outside Nigeria such as THE INTERNATIONAL FULLER WOMAN NETWORK-USA, MISS BIG WORLD NIGERIA, MISS ENDOWED AFRICA, ADAORA COUTURE, JPKINGDOM and South Africa’s Plus Fab
Please enjoy a ride with me as I take you down one year memory lane in this our anniversary edition.

I have looked back at
the last one year, I have questioned myself time about time if this is actually
what I want to do, and I am still convinced that it is. I didn’t do this alone this past one year, my ever
supporting team always had my back. We have so become a community, a virtual
family that came together for one genuine love and passion for the plus size
community and industry. Special thanks to God, our families, partners and fans
world wide for standing by us in the last one year.
Happy anniversary BIG SISTER Magazine.
